YourMondayMotivator - How do you face challenges?

As babies and children we were continually faced with challenges that tested us and made us learn. Learning to walk or getting the food into our mouths were huge challenges we faced head on with a smile on our face. Especially when we made even a bit of progress.

Somewhere along the way though a lot of us dropped the smile off our face when we faced challenges. Sometimes we even decided not to to face the challenges and quit. When we did that we stopped learning and missed opportunities.

Opportunities are generally disguised as insurmountable challenges. If you want to learn the lesson and grab the opportunity you have to face them once again as a child. Smile. Smile after every step forward. Laugh after every fall. We were meant to improve and grow by facing challenges head on.

Mary Engelbreit said, "If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it."

On this blustery end to the long weekend (it's Auckland Anniversary Weekend) set yourself some challenges for the week ahead. Face them with a smile and a ready laugh and you will breeze through them.

Have a successful week.

Todays minimotivator #123-2009

Hugh Allen said, "Jumping at several small opportunities may get us there more quickly than waiting for one big one to come along."

I learned last year that relying on one or three big clients isn't a good thing to do when there is a recession because they sometimes go under.

Applying this to growth I thought that going for the big win straight away (Lotto) isn't going to work. The odd idea might take hold and become huge, but mostly if you take small opportunities often, they add up to a lot of experience that leads onto bigger and bigger opportunities.

Nolan Bushnell said, "Everyone who has ever taken a shower has had an idea. It's the person who gets out of the shower, dries off, and does something about it that makes a difference."

People who do things, get things done. It's that simple, and you do it everyday. This week when you have a bright idea, write it down, study it, decide if there is value in it, and if there is, do something. Just taking that first step will get you where you want to be.

Todays minimotivator fresh from my desk

Stanislaw J. Lec said, "If a man who cannot count finds a four-leaf clover, is he lucky?"

Is he? I don't think so because he wouldn't know it was lucky. Are you missing opportunities because you can't count? That is if you knew more about something would you have more opportunities.
