Todays minimotivator #183-2009

Democritus said, "Nothing exists except atoms and empty space; everything else is opinion."

That simple statement amazes me when you realise it was said almost 2,000 years ago. How is it a man with no testing facility could come up with that.

It makes me think we know everything already but things only become clear when we are ready to believe them. What's your opinion?

Walter Savage Landor said, "Men, like nails, lose their usefulness when they lose direction and begin to bend."

How often do you bend? Sometimes bending is disguised as compromise. A word I'm not that keen on but it seems to make relationships and the world go round.

However, in recent times I have decided to become tougher, more focused and have an opinion. Some people like that opinion and some people don't. But at least we're talking and I'm feeling more useful.

Be like a nail, useful, and stay focused this week.
